Civil Drafting Technologist

This is an exceptional opportunity to join a highly collaborative environment working alongside our team of engineering, planning, and drafting specialists. You will be translating high-level conceptual designs into fully constructed projects, from preliminary phases through to project completion. The entire spectrum of work is something that our DPT members navigate and explore every day. Some of your daily responsibilities will be:
• Carrying out design drawing tasks and/or AutoCAD assignments 
• Support engineering personnel in the field with design, drawing production and/or construction specifications
• Ensuring quality control of your design production work
• Communicating with project leaders
• Performing a variety of defined assignments with independent judgment
• Advising and review of technical challenges
• Assisting with project timelines and ensuring deadlines are met

Qualifications

Our preferred candidate is a recent graduate with up to two years of experience from an Engineering Design & Drafting Technology or Civil Engineering Technology program with up to two years of experience and possesses the following skills, strengths, and interests:
• A keen interest in stormwater management design and analysis
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other MS Office software 
• Experience and understanding of GIS is an asset
• Excellent drafting skills and knowledge of drawing set-up and production
• A keen eye for detail and takes great pride in their work, in projects both large and small
• Effective communication and writing abilities
• Committed to ongoing personal and professional development
• Certification or eligible for certification with ASET
• Valid class 5 drivers license
