The Manitoba Métis Federation (MMF) is the National Government of the Red River Métis - also known as the Manitoba Métis. The Red River Métis are Canada’s Negotiating Partners in Confederation and the Founders of the Province of Manitoba.
The MMF seeks to fill one full-time Research Associate position within our Health and Wellness Department located at 200 Main Street in Winnipeg, MB. The Research Associate will be required to administer the conduct research, analysis, and a document a review of topics related to health Manitoba.

Qualifications

Job Duties/Competencies:
• Conduct literature reviews and environmental scans of health data tools, resources, programs, policies, and services regionally and provincially;
• Collect, compile and analyze research data;
• Organize information on programs, policies, and resources for education;
• Develop and disseminate Metis-specific tools and resources for education;
• Part-take in building policies, strategies, and frameworks based on the research outcomes for Metis citizens in Manitoba;
• Develop online surveys to monitor and assess Metis citizens’ experience with the health care system;
• Attend seminars and other meetings as they relate to the project(s);
Skills and Qualifications:
• Graduate Degree in Health or Social Science, Social Services mandatory, or relevant field, and/or equivalent experience and training may be considered; PhD is an asset;
• Training on multiple research software. SPSS is essential;
• Experience with quantitative/qualitative data, large health related data sets, surveys and community-based research methods;
• Experience in project management;
• Experience in report writing and proposal development;
• Strong, communication, organizational, interpersonal and time management skills;
• Experience working with boards and/or committees is preferred;
• Experience working for a not-for-profit organization and Indigenous community is an asset;
• Knowledge of Métis culture, MMF programs and services is a definite asset; and,
• Ability to travel, valid Manitoba Driver’s license with access to a reliable vehicle.
