Catching up with 🎓 Kristen Nerbas!

We recently had the opportunity to catch up with Assiniboine Business Administration grad ('25) Kristen Nerbas!

1. What’s your new role, and where are you working?
I’ve recently accepted a position as a sub-advisor with Branstone Financial Strategies, located in Brandon.

2. Are you fully licensed as a financial advisor yet?
Not quite yet—I'm currently in the final stages of licensing to practice as a financial advisor under Canada Life.

3. What areas of financial advising are you most passionate about?
Once licensed, I’ll be focusing on building my client base and diving into areas I’m passionate about, including:
- Financial education for young adults.
- Budgeting and debt repayment strategies.
- Retirement and investment planning.
- Family planning and goal-based advice.
- Reducing the stigma around personal finances and encouraging open, honest conversations.

4. How has your education helped prepare you for this role?
I’m incredibly grateful for my time at Assiniboine. Earning my Investment Funds in Canada certification and Life License Qualification Program designation while still in school has been a huge asset as I step into this new chapter.

5. How do you feel about this next step in your career?
I’m excited for what lies ahead and proud to be part of the Assiniboine Alumni community!
