CELPIP Test Preparation
Overview
Preparing to write a Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program (CELPIP) test for immigration, citizenship, study or professional designation?
Our 12-week course provides you with 72 hours of instructor-led activities and lessons designed to get you ready.
- Comprehensive coverage of test components: listening, reading, writing, and speaking
- Practice with the test formatting for each skill
- Interactive resources, including practice tests, video tutorials, and downloadable study plans
- Ongoing instructor feedback and assistance
Upcoming Intakes
This course is delivered online two evenings a week for three hours each evening. The course runs approximately 12 weeks.
- September 14 to December 4, 2026
- February 15 to May 7, 2027
Please note: Assiniboine College is not a CELPIP test site and you will not write a formal CELPIP-G test with us. Students are required to register and pay for their CELPIP test elsewhere.
Admissions
Admission Requirements
To enrol in this course, you must have completed a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 3 in three of four skill areas. Other English Language Proficiency test results are accepted. Other English Language Proficiency test results accepted are as follows:
- IELTS (General or Academic): 3.5 overall or higher
- CELPIP: 3 in three of four skill areas
If you do not have any English language test scores or have a test result that is not one of the above listed, please inquire with Assiniboine International at [email protected]. Admission into this program may be determined by the Program Coordinator in collaboration with the Registrar’s Office if we can assess your approximate English language speaking, reading, writing and listening abilities.
Careers & Connections
Students in this course will improve their knowledge of the CELPIP-G test and prepare for the test by understanding the formatting of the test and skills required to achieve the necessary marks.
If you are diligent in your studies, you should see improvement in your CELPIP-G abilities and scores after completion of this 12-week course.
CELPIP-G test results may be used for admission to certain programs at Assiniboine College and elsewhere. For details, consult the admission requirements for the specific program you are planning to apply to.
