Reporting to the Adjusting Manager, the Claims Services Agronomist is responsible for providing assistance with the improvement of existing programs and development of new programs, as well as assisting with the improvement and creation of adjusting procedures for all crop types and programs offered by the Corporation. The incumbent will also ensure clear and concise Adjusting procedures are available for all stages of Adjusting for All Risk, Hail and Wildlife claims and ensuring that all Adjustors are trained to provide consistent high quality adjustments province wide. The Claims Services Agronomist will also provide agronomic advice in the settlement of specific claims and other related duties.

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:
• Post-secondary education in Agronomy, Agriculture, or a related discipline with several years of directly related Agronomist experience, or an equivalent combination of related education and experience may be considered.
• Experience in agronomic practices including crop scouting and performing diagnostic techniques.
• Experience in agriculture and agricultural practices.
• Experience interpreting and applying complex policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulations.
• Experience performing research, collecting and analyzing information, and communicating findings accordingly.
• Experience using Microsoft Office 365 (SharePoint, OneDrive, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams) in a cloud-based environment.
• Ability to maintain accuracy with strong attention to detail, including numerical accuracy.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations.

Desired Qualifications:
• Member of Manitoba Institute of Agrologists is an asset.

Conditions of Employment:
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license, access to a vehicle, and the ability to travel within the Province of Manitoba.
