Reporting to the Data Analytics Manager, the Data Analyst is responsible for compiling and keying data, maintaining files, and performing calculations for annual updating of crop insurance programs. The Data Analyst will also collect and analyze data in support of various research projects and annual studies and investigate methods to improve the efficiency of the annual update of the crop insurance programs.

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:
• Degree in Agriculture, Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Sciences or a related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Experience in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data, both qualitative and quantitative.
• Experience in preparing and maintaining files, records, databases, and reports.
• Experience using Microsoft Office 365 (SharePoint, OneDrive, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) in a cloud-based environment.
• Experience interpreting and applying acts, policies, or procedures.
• Ability to pay attention to detail and accurately input, manipulate, verify, and check large amounts of data.
• Ability to clearly summarize data and analysis.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure.
• Knowledge of mathematics and statistics.

Desired Qualifications:
• Experience in agriculture or an agricultural background would be an asset.

Conditions of Employment:
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license, access to a vehicle and the ability to travel within the Province of Manitoba.
