Overview
Manitoba Natural Resources and Northern Development is looking for enthusiastic, energetic, and motivated individuals interested in filling the role of Camp Cook Manager at Wekusko Falls Helitac Base. The Manitoba government has a comprehensive benefits package which includes extended health care, health spending account, dental care, vision care, long term disability insurance, group life insurance, maternity/paternity leave, family related leave, and a defined pension plan (some pension plans allow for portability between the Civil Service Superannuation Board and employers).
Under the direction of the Head Cook, the incumbent assists at the Wekusko Falls Initial Attack Base kitchen in preparing for up to 100 people. Duties include, but are not limited to: preparation cooking and serving of meals; cleaning of the kitchen area and the equipment used in the preparation of meals; and taking food stock inventory and ordering groceries. The incumbent may assist with janitorial duties and assist Wildfire Service staff with other projects as well as other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
Essential Qualifications:
Experience in meal preparation for large groups of 25+ people in a camp or catering capacity.
Knowledge of safe work practices.
Basic knowledge in food preparation.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team atmosphere.
Strong verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Desired Qualifications:
Formal training/certification in food preparation and handling.
Experience in food stocking and inventory control
Experience in housekeeping and janitorial work.
