Overview
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Agro Manager, the Summer Crop Scout plays a key role in supporting agricultural operations and providing exceptional Guest service. This position offers hands-on experience in field scouting, soil sampling, and agronomy practices, making it an excellent opportunity for students enrolled in an Agriculture Diploma or Degree program to gain practical knowledge in their field of study.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct field and crop scouting to identify weeds, insects, and other potential issues.
Deliver agricultural products to farms efficiently and professionally.
Assist with shipping, receiving, and organizing crop protection products, seed bags, and fertilizers.
Support the setup and record-keeping of insect monitoring traps.
Collaborate with Agronomists to learn scouting techniques and assist in making crop nutrient and protection recommendations.
Perform data entry and maintain accurate field information for Guests.
Help organize and participate in Guest appreciation events.
Operate yard maintenance equipment as needed to ensure site upkeep.
Provide assistance to the Agronomist and Agro Manager as required.
Offer support to other Agro sites when needed.
Qualifications
You are looking for a career in Agriculture and;
Possess excellent interpersonal and Guest service skills.
Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to multitask effectively.
Strong communicator, both verbally and in writing.
Must hold a valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
