Environmental Student

Overview

Reporting to the Environmental Coordinator the Environmental Student is responsible to:
• Provide technical and administrative support to all members of the Surface Land and Environment department.
• Conduct inspections of our remedial systems including water analysis, small repairs and general site upkeep, reporting, and assist with project coordination.
• Conduct crop inspections including crop scouting and vegetation assessments.
• Assist with small rehabilitation projects including weed and vegetation control, lease clean-up, checking fences, and flagging off lease boundaries.
• Provide administrative support including processing invoices and cost tracking, Data management, Clearance submissions, Hard filing, Arc Map updates, etc.
• Other additional duties as required.

Qualifications

Candidates for this position will possess the following qualifications and competencies:
• Enrolled in post-secondary education in Environmental Science is required.
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office suite of programs, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook are required.
• Energetic, punctual, willing to learn
• Ability to interact within a team environment
• Excellent judgment and safety conscious
• Valid Driver’s License
• Willingness to achieve certification in:
- H2S Alive Certificate
- First Aid/ CPR
- ATV Safety Course
- WHMIS
- TDG
