Network Services Field Technician

What you’ll do:
• Install and replace pre-configured network-related equipment at various remote locations.
• Connect and maintain patch cables (cat5e,6,7 and fiber optic) following WCG and industry standards.
• Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of network-related equipment and powering systems to identify emerging issues and guarantee optimal performance.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose faulty equipment, coordinating with relevant teams to resolve issues.
• Execute preventive maintenance tasks on network and facility systems to prolong their lifespan and ensure continuous operational efficiency.
• Maintain, service, and test AC and DC Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems to ensure they provide reliable power continuity.
• Respond promptly to UPS alarms and alarms from associated systems.
• Maintain accurate records and create reports to ensure thorough documentation and provide insights.
• Follow industry standards and best practices, maintaining high-quality network performance and safety.

Qualifications

What you’ll bring to the team:
• Post-secondary education from a two-year diploma or degree in computer, network, or electronic technology. Technical certifications in electrical systems or related fields are preferred and considered an asset.
• Proven experience in installing, maintaining, and testing network-related equipment.
• Demonstrated knowledge with UPS systems, powering systems, and standby generators.
• Familiarity with all aspects of wireless internet equipment is considered an asset.
• Proficient in the use of productivity tools (e.g. Excel, Word).
• Must be available to work evenings, night shifts, and extended travel/stays away from Brandon as required.
• Must be available for emergencies as required.
• Must hold and maintain a valid driver's license.
• Must be able to carry up to 75lbs.
