Security Technologist
Overview
JOB PROFILE
Under the general supervision of the Manager of Services, the Security Technologist is responsible for providing technical expertise related to Cure 9000 Enterprise access control system, Traka key Management system, Genetec VM systems, Airphone Bosch intercom, Axis and Hanwha Cameras and Commend Intercom.
Incumbent manages the IT infrastructure-related servers and software including Microsoft server, VEEAM, SQL, and all security applications. This includes but is not limited to programming, repair, maintenance, installation, commissioning and technical support administration, and coordination of installation projects for electronic security.
The Security Technologist is also responsible for the hierarchal design, key and lock management, and record-keeping of all WPS building/office keys to staff members
As the Security Technologist, you will:
• General maintenance of field controls
• Maintain and upgrade all aspects of WPS Security systems’ infrastructure
• Maintain key issue system and perform record keeping of all WPS building/office keys
• Provides technical support and training to staff where issues arise between Computerized Building Security and Access Systems and/or maintenance
Qualifications
Your education and qualifications include:
1. College Diploma in Industrial Instrumentation or Electronics
2. 3 years’ experience in the installation and maintenance of security systems and equipment
3. Experience configuring and maintaining CCTV and access control applications such as Genetec VMS and C-Cure 9000 4. Knowledge of applicable codes and regulations.
5. Knowledge and understanding of building security systems, CCTV and how these relate to other building systems.
6. Basic level proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
7. Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and drawings.
8. Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and complex measuring instruments.
9. Ability to work independently with minimal of supervision, expedite and resolve issue.
10. Organizational skills with the ability to plan and prioritize work effectively to meet tight timelines.
11. Problem solving skills with the ability to make decisions and recommendations.
12. Written communication skills with the ability to keep records and prepare written reports clearly and concisely.
13. Verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate complex information effectively to a variety of audiences. 14. Interpersonal skills with the ability to work cooperatively with fellow co-workers, and stakeholders including, contractors, consultants, customers, and the general public.
15. The ability to establish and maintain a positive, respectful, healthy work environment that supports the physical, psychological and social working relationships with members at all levels in a team environment

Conditions of Employment:
• Ability to pass a level 3 Winnipeg Police Service security check and maintain clearance
• Certification with CTTAM
• Possess and maintain a valid Class 5.0 Driver’s License
• Must possess or apply for and receive a Limited Manitoba Electrician’s license within one year from start date
• Physically able to perform the duties of the job
