Student Assistant Curator Position
Overview
Responsibilities:
-Assist with School Tours, Day care and Day Camp Group tours & daily tours as required
- Assist with display table at the Farmers Market every Friday as well as Downtown special Events;
- Assist with creating a Museum Day and BBQ; a Kid’s Day and activities and any new events
- Help receive, identify, catalogue and display or store artifact donations as required
-Work as a Team Member as well as independently and be self-motivated
-Must have excellent interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills
-Strong written and verbal communication skills
-Perform all related duties as needed
-Provide regular care and maintenance of collections and displays as well as general housekeeping duties and outdoor yard and garden care
Qualifications
Education, Skills, Experience
- Position is open to University, College or High-school students
- Must be a full-time student and be between 15 and 30 years of age who is returning to classes in fall as per any approved funding requirements
- Strong written and verbal Communication skills
- Excellent computer skills and using social media platforms
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and timelines and self motivated
- Background or interest in History, Museum or Archival Studies, Anthropology, Tourism and Hospitality, English, Journalism, Public Relations or related fields.
