Overview
Performs, and may direct assigned workers, planting, cultivating and transplanting trees, shrubs, and ornamental and flowering plants. This Trades Worker provides expertise in greenhouse and nursery operations and landscape design as well as tree maintenance, landscaping, grounds keeping and seasonal and storm clean-up.
Qualifications
MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
• Grade 12, G.E.D., C.A.E.C., or Mature High School Diploma;
• Hold and maintain a valid Manitoba Class 3 with Air Drivers License;
• Post-Secondary coursework in horticulture or botany;
• Pesticide Applicators Certification and any other certifications as required by legislation; core, greenhouse, mosquito and landscape golf course (can be obtained within 2 years);
• Integrated Pest Management Certification (can be obtained within 2 years of appointment).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
• Minimum of two (2) years comprehensive experience in greenhouse operations relating to floral plant crop production.
