Held in the historic Manitoba Institute of Culinary Arts building on our North Hill campus, you will be treated to a gourmet multi-course menu with wine pairings and complimentary in-town car service.

Proceeds from this year’s gala will grow Sustainable Food Systems Scholarships that will unlock access to a rigorous advanced diploma program dedicated to tackling food insecurity through innovation in horticulture and agri-food systems. Sustainable Food Systems is one of only two programs in Canada, positioning Assiniboine as a leader in this field. These scholarships will assist in removing financial barriers for students and ensure they can participate fully in hands-on training and applied research in our expanded greenhouse complex opening later this year.

Climate change, supply chain vulnerabilities, and rising food prices threaten reliable access to healthy food. Communities in Manitoba—especially northern, rural, and Indigenous communities—face unique barriers to year-round fresh produce. Manitoba’s greenhouse and horticulture sectors are expanding, but employers need graduates with advanced skills in sustainable production, greenhouse operations, and data-driven optimization. This program will prepare graduates to lead sustainable food production, strengthen local supply chains, and improve community health outcomes across Manitoba and beyond.
