More Than 500 International Students From More Than 20 Countries
Did you know that Assiniboine Community College is home to more than 500 international students from over 20 countries? We have many support services to ensure you have a great student experience while you are here.
Assiniboine Community College is a publicly funded institution accredited under the College’s Act of Manitoba since 1969 and is a Designated Learning Institution with Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada. Assiniboine students are nationally recognized for their academic achievements and leadership qualities.
We have diploma and certificate programs across a range of disciplines including food and hospitality, business, agriculture and the environment, health and human services, trades and technology. Each of these programs embodies our philosophy of hands-on education supported by classroom learning. Assiniboine’s programs include both academic theory and practical experience. Small class sizes ensure students receive the supports they need.
Learn By Doing—This isn’t just our motto; it’s our educational philosophy. We provide exceptional learning experiences and many times that means taking you outside of a traditional classroom. Whether you’re growing plants in our sustainable greenhouse or creating a meal in our teaching kitchen, we’ll make sure you get the hands-on experience you need so you’re fully prepared for your future.
We’re proud to partner with professional organizations and other post-secondary institutions to ensure your education takes you further. A popular option is the 2+2 program, allowing you to combine two years at Assiniboine with two years at a partner university, earning you a diploma and a degree in just four years. And increasingly, we’re seeing more students attending our college for hands-on college training to complement their previous university education.
