Assiniboine College has been providing exceptional learning experiences that have been transforming lives and strengthening Manitoba through applied education and research for more than 60 years.

Together with Hotel and Restaurant Management, Culinary Arts opened the doors of its state-of-the-art educational facility in September 2007 at Assiniboine’s North Hill Campus. The site features heritage buildings and a picturesque landscape, with newly constructed and renovated classrooms and labs, plus a leading-edge teaching kitchen, theatre, and a 60-seat dining room.

Be Passionate and Take Initiative with these Responsibilities:

  • Support our Chef Instructors and students in a fast-paced team atmosphere to inspire the next generation of culinary students and pass on the love of food.
  • Assist instructors in organizing course-related materials.
  • Assist with evaluation processes.
  • Monitor students to ensure they work safely in the kitchen.
  • Collaborate with the team to order, receive, store, distribute and inventory supplies.
  • Perform various food preparation, baking and cooking duties.
  • Assist in our live-work integrated events.

Be able to deliver results by having:

  • A Certificate or Diploma from a recognized Culinary/Baking Program with experience in an adult education setting.
  • Professional Cook (Red Seal) is considered an asset.
  • Experience with inventory control systems for the food and beverage industry or the ability to create/use spreadsheets for inventory control
  • Ability to work independently and manage a daily workload while also being able to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
